In the present international context, sub-Saharan Africa must, before engaging its variation of development, find new roads permitting a sustainable and ecologically sound development in order to preserve the Earth.

2.7 to 3.8 billion of kilograms of wood are consumed throughout the world each day.  While much of the population believes that Burkina‚Äôs forests are regenerating, deforestation is intensfying.  If this is not put under control soon, the desert will install itself in Burkina. The Sahel is one of the sunniest places in the world. Nothing would be better than the utilisation of this potential energy in the fight against desertification.
